Govalle Elementary School has served East Austin students since 1931. Building on a strong tradition of community engagement, Govalle partners with families to offer a world of opportunities—from arts and athletics to reading and robotics—to help students prepare for college, career and life.
In addition to offering core subjects such as English language arts and social studies, Govalle is proud to provide Pre-K and dual language programs, as well as rich fine arts experiences and robust science, technology, engineering and math programs.
Each spring, students bring the Bard’s greatest players to life through the University of Texas at Austin’s Shakespeare program. Moving from literature to Legos, students are using their wits and whimsy to earn high marks in robotics competitions.
Govalle fosters an inclusive school culture that honors diversity and maintains high expectations for all students. Committed to educating the whole child, the campus was the first AISD school to fully implement the district’s social and emotional learning initiative.
Govalle is part of the Eastside Memorial family of schools, which offers STEM programs at every grade level and is part of the district’s new creative learning initiative to offer a quality arts-rich education to every child.
