Principal's Welcome Back Message!!

Welcome to a New School Year at Govalle Roadrunner Country!

We are excited to kick off another wonderful year of learning, growth, and community. As we begin this journey together, I want to share some important information to ensure a successful and smooth experience for all our students.

**Attendance Matters**

Consistent attendance is key to your child's success. Please strive to have your child arrive on time each day. Our school day starts promptly at 7:40 AM and concludes at 3:10 PM. Punctuality helps establish good routines and sets a positive tone for a productive day of learning.

**New Dismissal Procedures**

Our dismissal procedures are in place to enhance safety and efficiency:

- Walkers- Students walking home will be escorted to the crossing guard at Gunter St. and Govalle Ave. by staff members.

- Grades 3-5th: Dismiss from the bus loop.

- ECSE through 2nd Grade: Dismiss at the front of the school, along with any older siblings.

Please inform your child's teacher of any changes to your child's dismissal plans in advance; before 2:40 pm., Clear communication helps us prioritize safety and ensures a smooth transition each day.

**Building Good Habits**

Starting the school year with effective morning routines—like preparing backpacks, laying out clothes, and establishing consistent bedtimes—can make a big difference in your child's readiness and attitude for school.

**Volunteer Opportunities**

We welcome and appreciate parent and family involvement! If you're interested in volunteering, please visit http://www.austinisd.voly.org to see available opportunities at Govalle and across Austin ISD.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we can make this school year a positive and enriching experience for all our Roadrunners!

Warm regards,

Diana Vallejo
