A New Year at Govalle: Together for Our Children’s Success

Dear Govalle Families,

Happy New Year! As we begin this new semester, I want to share how truly grateful I am for each of you. Govalle is more than a school—it is a family—and it is because of your love, advocacy, and partnership that our students continue to grow, thrive, and believe in themselves.

This season of learning is especially important as our students prepare for STAAR and continue working toward strong academic and overall achievement. Success does not happen in isolation—it happens when school and home work hand in hand. Your encouragement, strong routines at home, regular attendance, and conversations about learning help build confidence, focus, and resilience in our students. These daily acts of care matter more than you know.

I also want to extend my deepest appreciation to our PTA, community partners, and Govalle community neighbors. Your voices, presence, and unwavering support were essential in the fight—and the victory—to keep our school model as it is. Because of you, Govalle remains a place where students are known, supported, and given opportunities to thrive. This was a true community win, and I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

As we move forward, I invite you to continue this partnership by joining me at our Principal Coffee Chats, held on the last Friday of each month at 8:00 AM. These informal gatherings are a time to connect, receive updates, and share practical strategies you can use at home to support your child’s learning and focus. Your questions, ideas, and voices matter, and I would love to see you there.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and for standing alongside us every step of the way. I am excited for what this new year holds and confident that, together, we will help every Govalle student reach their fullest potential.

With gratitude,

Diana Vallejo
Govalle Principal
