Principal's Welcome Back Message!!

Welcome to a new school year at Govalle Roadrunner Country! We are excited to kick off another year of learning and growth together. As we embark on this journey, I want to emphasize a few important details to ensure a successful and smooth experience for our students.

**Attendance Matters**

One of the key factors in a student’s success is regular attendance. We kindly ask you to ensure that your child arrives on time every day. Our school day begins promptly at 7:40 AM and ends at 3:10 PM. Arriving on time not only sets the stage for a productive day but also helps children develop good habits and routines that will serve them well throughout their education.

**New Dismissal Procedures**

This year, we are implementing new dismissal procedures to ensure the safety and efficiency of our students' departures:

- Walkers: Students who walk home will be escorted to the crossing guard at the intersection of Gunter St. and Govalle Ave. by two staff members.

- Grades 3-6: These students will dismiss in the bus loop.

- ECSE through 2nd Grade: These students will dismiss at the front of the school, along with their older siblings.

Please communicate any changes to your child's dismissal plan with their teachers in advance. Keeping our lines of communication open will help us prioritize your child’s safety and ensure a smooth process each day.

**Building Good Habits**

As we begin this school year, I encourage all families to focus on building effective morning routines. Preparing backpacks, laying out clothes, and establishing a consistent bedtime can foster an environment conducive to learning and can greatly impact your child’s day at school.

**Volunteer Opportunities**

We are always looking for dedicated parents and family members to volunteer and support our school community. If you're interested in helping out, please visit www.austinisd.voly.org to see the various opportunities available at Govalle and around Austin ISD.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can create a positive and enriching environment for our students. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Warm regards,

Diana Vallejo
